‘1786’ The Gloucester Journal of 14th August called Swansea “the Brighton of Wales”
‘1804’ Calvert Richard Jones, pioneer photographer born in Swansea, took photos here as early as the 1840’s.
‘1807’ World’s first passenger railway established.
‘1823’ Red Lady of Paviland discovered in Gower cave (oldest human remains – later found to be the bones of a young man buried over 100,000 years ago)
