Fed up with the World Cup? Meet the guys who know how to have fun. Better than football? Well you can judge by listening to the Phoenix. The Phoenix choir celebrates its third birthday at the Taliesin on 27th June. Formed in 2007, the choir has nearly 50% new members. And why did they join? Comments from these “new boys” include: “I can’t imagine why every man shouldn’t join a choir” “ A life changing experience”, “The comradeship is terrific”. The choir has now completed some 70 engagements in 3 years and cut its first CD “Having a Good Time” which characterises the choir’s philosophy. Musical Director, Siȃn Pearce has put together a challenging and varied repertoire and the Phoenix is now known for the energy and enthusiasm it brings to its performances. The mixture of traditional and modern delights audiences. The choir comes to its Third Annual concert with pleasure in its achievements and optimism for the future. They are delighted to welcome Swansea’s own Ria Jones as Guest Artiste. She has an enviable reputation for her work in the West End and further afield and is well-loved by her home town audience.
