Volcano Bay, located adjacent to the main pool area, is the LC’s most exciting waterpark addition to date, and consists of a number of brightly coloured features that will appeal in particular to younger children.

The Bay, which is now fully operational in preparation for the school holidays, is home to the Wavy Snake, which squirts water down on to the bay, as well as two giant serpents, which guard the entrance to Volcano Bay and spray water over unsuspecting visitors. Entry to Volcano Bay is through the new water curtain, and to get to the star attraction of the Volcano Slide - an impressive red and yellow feature with a slide running through the middle.

Like any Volcano, this new addition is set to erupt from time to time and the special effects, which include a laser show and smoke, will be an extra wow factor.

Anthony Jones, Maintenance Manager at the LC, said:

“Although the waterpark has always proven popular with our visitors, we thought it was time, now that we are in the LC’s third year of operation, to introduce something new and exciting that people, especially families with young children, can enjoy. Volcano Bay is a very impressive feature that really stands out; I think anyone who sees it will agree that it is an outstanding addition to the LC’s waterpark.

“We hope to see lots of families coming along to the LC during the summer holidays to experience Volcano Bay, as well as the waterpark’s other popular rides and slides, such as the Master Blaster and the Lazy River.”

The LC’s waterpark is home to a number of attractions, including the unique indoor surf machine, the Boardrider, the hi-tech wave pool, three water rides, a lagoon pool and a lazy river, as well as an interactive fun pool for toddlers.

Richard Proctor, Chief Executive commented:

“We’re always looking to improve and develop the LC and Volcano Bay is a great example of this. We hope it will be a huge hit with families who have younger children, who are perhaps too small to enjoy some of the more daring slides and rides that the main waterpark has to offer.”

The LC waterpark is now open all day every day, from 9am to 8pm for the duration of the summer break.
