The Dylan Thomas Story - Itinerary…

 

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation

 

Day 2 – After a restful night, and a fabulous breakfast, you will be joined by our guide.  You will visit the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea or Dylan Thomas Birthplace, followed by a coach tour through the Uplands and Mumbles – favorite haunts of Dylan Thomas.  In the afternoon we will stop in Mumbles village, where you can visit ‘Watering Holes’ (Pubs) that were favoured by Dylan Thomas… or you can  simply enjoy Mumbles and do a little shopping.  (It is expected the group will want to wander and do their own lunch, however, a group lunch can be arranged)

 

Day 3 – Again our guide will join you and take you on a scenic tour of Gower.  A lifelong friend of Dylan Thomas, Vernon Watkins, who was brought up on Gower, is

 

buried in the Pennard Parish Church – we will stop at Pennard Parish Church.  Depending on the size of the group we will visit Pennard Stores / The Cliff Restaurant in Southgate, Gower – where we will stop for lunch – and learn more about Vernon Watkins with a short talk over lunch.  (As an alternative location for lunch, we will visit the Gower Heritage Centre).  We will head to Rhossilli talking about Dylan’s trips into Gower and his escapades in Rhosilli, stopping at Rhossilli for the spectacular views and a short walk.  On the return journey we will stop for afternoon tea at the Gower Heritage Centre.  Returning to the Hotel for the evening meal.

 

Day 4 – A visit to Laugharne to do the Dylan Thomas walking trail, see the Boat House, Grave, Browns Hotel.

 

Day 5 - After breakfast leave to return home.

 

Scenic Tours of Swansea, Bay, The Gower Peninsula, Waterfall Country & more  – Itinerary…

 

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation

 

Day 2 - After a leisurely breakfast, a tour guide will join you at your hotel.  The first stop of the day will be at the award winning attraction - Aberdulais Tin Works and Waterfall – where you can explore the history and heritage of the Aberdulais Tin Works - the attraction boasts an impressive waterfall that is quite accessible to view.  At the end of the morning we will have a light lunch at the attraction.  After lunch we travel to Brecon to explore this traditional Welsh town with a range of shops and restaurants, OR Craig Y Nos Castle, Margam Park or the National Showcaves for Wales.

 

Day 3 - Tour of Swansea Bay and Gower Peninsula - A tour guide will provide commentary on your journey from your hotel into the City of Swansea.  A scenic drive into Gower stopping at the Gower Heritage Centre for refreshments and a tour of this attraction.  Scenic tour of Gower continues with a visit to  the award winning Rhossilli Bay or Three Cliffs Bay and then returns to Gower Heritage Centre for an afternoon cream tea.

 

Day 4 – A visit to the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, in morning, followed by a visit to the

 

gardens of  Swansea in the afternoon – such as Clyne Gardens and Swansea Botanical Gardens (Depending on the time of year) –  lunch will be in  the small seaside village of Mumbles.

 

Day 5 - After breakfast, leave to return home.
